This is why OyoKopa Business & Career Conference 2023 has been designed to equip youth corpers in Nigeria with the knowledge and skills they need to build a successful career or business in the new normal.
10,000 youth corpers in Oyo State to attend and benefit
OyoKopa Business & Career Conference will be an annual event organized by Oyo State Corp Members for corpers serving in Oyo State, Nigeria. It targets up to 4000 corpers onsite and 6000 corpers online. The theme of the conference is ‘Career, Business, and Digital Skills for the Next Generation’.
According to John Ojelola, one of the conveners of OyoKopa Business & Career Conference, “lack of information has been identified as a major reason why corp members will be done with their service year but remain unemployed.” Apart from John Ojelola, the other conveners are Justus Chineke and Titiloye Joseph. The trio are corp members currently serving in Oyo State. Together, they strongly believe that if corp members were armed with valuable information on how they can create value for themselves and the society, the level of unemployment would reduce significantly.
OyoKopa Business & Career Conference has already secured approval from the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Oyo State to provide skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development to its youth corpers throughout the state. This ensures full participation by the targeted corpers expected from 33 local governments of the state.
